Chris Lytle vs. Matt Brown Fight Prediction – UFC 116
CHRIS LYTLE vs. MATT BROWN
Fight Overview: A rematch of a 2007 fight in which Lytle choked Brown out for the victory. Brown has put together a number of impressive performances since then, though, so this one should be even more competitive.
Brown’s Strengths: Brown has great boxing and Muay Thai and good submissions.
Brown’s Weaknesses: He is not very physically imposing, has a tendency to get tossed around, and his wrestling is not very good. He also has fairly poor submission defense.
Lytle’s Strengths: Lytle has a great gound game all around, with top control, ground and pound, and submissions.
Lytle’s Weaknesses: His standup is not very good at all.
The Verdict: I think Lytle takes this one. Brown is much better standing, but he doesn’t handle adversity well in the grappling game, and Lytle is tailor-made to exploit that. Lytle by submission.
Fight Prediction: Chris Lytle by second round rear naked choke.
