Fight Overview: Two skilled and well-rounded 145 pounders look to come out of their first UFC appearance with a win. Both guys have very complete games, so this should be competitive.
Roop’s Strengths: Roop has solid wrestling, good submissions, and decent striking with good power.
Roop’s Weaknesses: His submission defense is not the best and he is not as technically sound a striker as Hominick.
Hominick’s Strengths: Hominick has good striking, wrestling, and jiu-jitsu, and he puts it all together well.
Hominick’s Weaknesses: He can be submitted on the ground and is not a dominant wrestler.
The Verdict: These two guys have very similar skill sets, but I think Hominick is just a little bit better at everything. He is not going to blow Roop out of the water, but he should be able to control the action well enough to earn himself a close decision win.
