Fight Overview:  Well-rounded veteran Matt Wiman faces a stern challenge in the dangerous submission game of Cole “Magrinho” Miller.  Wiman is more versatile but Miller’s submissions are better than any part of Wiman’s game, which makes this a compelling fight.

Wiman’s Strengths:  Wiman has good wrestling, positional control, ground and pound, and submissions.

Wiman’s Weaknesses:  This is a step up for him in terms of grappling ability, and his strengths play directly into Miller’s.

Miller’s Strengths:  Miller has an amazing ground game, with great positioning, sweeps, and escapes along with an uncanny ability to finish fights by submission.

Miller’s Weaknesses:  He is not going to be able to dominate the wrestling against Wiman, his standup is mediocre at best, and his chin is suspect.

The Verdict:  Unfortunately for Wiman, his strengths play right into Miller’s.  Wiman is at his best working from top position on the ground, but if he tries to hang with Miller in the grappling game he is going to pay for it.  Wiman’s standup is arguably better than Miller’s, but he doesn’t have the ability to really make Miller pay on the feet.  One way or the other this fight will end up on the ground, and Miller will take over from there.  Miller by submission.
