UFC 124 – Georges St-Pierre vs. Josh Koscheck 2 Prediction

Fight Overview:  Two of the welterweight division’s best wrestlers go at it with the title on the line and a lot of personal animosity leading into the fight.  Last time they met, GSP easily outwrestled Koscheck to earn the win, and it remains to be seen if Koscheck has made the necessary improvements.

Koscheck’s Strengths:  Koscheck has great wrestling, top control, ground and pound, and a lot of knockout power on the feet.

Koscheck’s Weaknesses:  In their first fight he got manhandled by GSP in the wrestling game.

St. Pierre’s Strengths:  St. Pierre has become one of the most dominant wrestlers in the sport and also has very good striking and submissions.

St. Pierre’s Weaknesses:  He hates being punched and tends to play it very safe, which gives his opponent more opportunities to land big fight-ending shots.

The Verdict:  This should be exactly like their first fight.  Expect St. Pierre to dominate Koscheck in the wrestling again and grind out a decision from top position.
