JAKE ELLENBERGER vs. CARLOS EDUARDO ROCHA
Fight Overview: Undefeated submission phenom Carlos Eduardo Rocha faces by far his stiffest challenge to date in aggressive wrestler Jake Ellenberger. Rocha has serious submission skills, but Ellenberger is far more experienced and well-rounded, so this is going to be a tough fight for the Brazilian.
Rocha’s Strengths: Rocha has extremely effective jiu-jitsu from every position.
Rocha’s Weaknesses: Rocha has never faced anyone remotely near Ellenberger’s level, and he is going to be wholly outgunned in the standup and the wrestling.
Ellenberger’s Strengths: Ellenberger has great wrestling, very effective boxing, an aggressive style, and dominant ground and pound.
Ellenberger’s Weaknesses: His jiu-jitsu is not as good as Rocha’s at all.
The Verdict: Ellenberger is just way too much for Rocha at this point. Rocha’s only chance comes on the ground, but if this fight goes to the ground it is going to be when and how Ellenberger wants it to. I think Ellenberger will dominate the standup striking and or pummel Rocha with ground and pound. Ellenberger by T/KO.
