AMIR SADOLLAH vs. DAMARQUES JOHNSON

Fight Overview:  Two skilled and well-rounded young Welterweights try to move up a notch in the division as Ultimate Fighter winner Amir Sadollah takes on DaMarques Johnson.  Johnson is a very dangerous offensive fighter, but Sadollah is the superior fighter technically, so this should be a competitive fight.

Sadollah’s Strengths:  Sadollah has very good technical Muay Thai and very effective submissions.

Sadollah’s Weaknesses:  His striking is not very powerful, he is not very physically strong, and his wrestling is subpar.

Johnson’s Strengths:  Johnson has powerful striking, decent wrestling, and good submissions.

Johnson’s Weaknesses:  His striking and submission defense are both questionable and he is less technical on the feet than Sadollah.

The Verdict:  Johnson is physically more imposing, but Sadollah’s superior technique should win the day.  His quick striking and ability to work in the clinch should give Johnson fits on the feet, and when this hits the ground Sadollah is perfectly positioned to exploit Johnson’s questionable submission defense.  Sadollah by submission.
